Hello,
My name is Andrew Newsham and Im a writer. I was born a world away in Burnley, in the North of England, in the summer of 1975.
Some people like what I write. They find me funny and illuminating. Other people think Im demented
You can make your own mind up.
Ive had short stories published in numerous places including Esquire Magazine and pulp.net. Ive also been published in several anthologies. The most recent of which is called Dreams Never End and is available from Tindal Street Press. The Times newspaper review said it was a good book and that I personally show promise. The reviewer was unnamed and Ive yet to find out if the piece was written by my fifth grade Geography teacher Mr. Hargreaves who used to always write that on my school report. Its unlikely but you never know
Lots of people have given me help and support along the way and Im grateful to them all, in particular my friends and family and the people at West Midlands Arts whove supported me with a couple of grants over the years.
Thanks also go out to The Kerouac House who put me up for three months in 2003and allowed write my first novel in the house where Jack lived.
Finally I must also thank Hawthornden Writers Fellowship for giving me a room in their castle outside Edinburgh. While there I met my future wife and completed the first draft of my new book Disorganized Crime. If anyone is interested in reading the new book then drop me a line, particularly if you are a publisher or literary agent or someone who knows a publisher or literary agent and is willing to help me getting them to read it.
Im currently working on a collection of short stories called How to Tame Your Newsagent.
